Penelope Twist swimwear uses a sustainable techno-fabric made with Econyl - a 100% regenerated nylon fiber from post-consumer materials.
There are 640,000 tons of fishing nets in the ocean. These fishing nets remain adrift for a large amount of time and are responsible for the accidental capture of whales, turtles, birds, and other marine animals. This problem only continues to get worse. Fortunately, there are organizations like Healthy Seas, who from 2013-2015 recovered and recycled more than 150 tons of nets.
An innovative industrial process is then used to recover Nylon from these fishing nets, and other waste materials. This nylon is then transformed back into virgin raw material for the creation of your swimwear.
